Michigan’s Great Southwest has some of the best students in the state—a reflection of a supportive environment and a solid educational foundation that includes over 15 area public school districts and over 30 private schools, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade—all of which complement the area’s universities and colleges. School districts range in size from more than 6,300 students to 80 students, providing rich and diverse educational opportunities for our residents. The average pupil/teacher ratio for our county is 20:1 primary, and 22:1 secondary. According to the US Census Berrien County Enrollment for 2005 was 33,712.
