Job Training

MichiganWorks! Association
Michigan Works! Association is nationally recognized as being one of the largest and most progressive workforce development agencies in the country. Michigan Works! Fosters high-quality employment and training programs serving employers and workers by providing support activities and a forum for information exchange for the State's workforce development system.

Lake Michigan College
Working in cooperation with local employers, Lake Michigan College provides training for workers enrolled by their employers. Such training includes classroom instruction as well as on the job training opportunities. Currently, over 300 apprentices at various companies throughout Michigan's Great Southwest are learning through is program.

Additional Incentives for Job Training May be available
Michigan offers a coordinated job training system using federal, state and local resources to provide a highly productive and trained workforce. Grants to training institutions can provide funding for activities that increase worker productivity and company profitability, provide transferable skills to employees which enhances the ability of education institutions to meet the needs of industry. Free recruitment, screening and testing services are available for new employers expanding in Michigan through Michigan Works!
